OnStar and Google have reached an agreement to enhance OnStar Turn-by-Turn Navigation Service. OnStar eNav, a feature of Turn-by-Turn Navigation, will expand and become available through Google MapsTM mapping service at the end of June.

OnStar subscribers will be able to search for and identify destinations using Google Maps mapping service and send those destinations to their vehicles. Subscribers can then get directions to their destination from anywhere on the road.

The agreement follows last month’s announcement that OnStar is leveraging the power of Google technology to develop a number of new mobile app features for the Chevrolet Volt.

WHY WON’T MAP DOWNLOADS WORK WITH VERIZON NATIONWIDE AND WHEN WILL THAT PROBLEM BE FIXED?

  2. Shannon says:

Will this feature work on the Safe and Sound plans, or is Directions and Connections required?

Hi Shannon – Turn-by-Turn Navigation is included with the Directions & Connections Plan. If you have Safe and Sound, you would have to upgrade.

Will this be available in Canada? Or will it be like Mapquest and not work in Canada?

    Hi,
I do’nt have an iPhone nor an Android phone, but using an ASUS Transformer tablet. From the Android market, it seems the application is not compatible with my device. How can I send Google Maps to my Volt ?

    Thanks

Hi there – The RemoteLink app requires an iPhone or Android system in order to use, but you can still use Google Maps or MapQuest to send directions to your vehicle through our eNav feature. You just need an active Directions & Connections subscription. There’s a great video with step-by-step instructions on how to use eNav at this link http://www.onstar.com/web/portal/navigationexplore?tab=2 Just click “See How to Use It”.

Hope this helps to answer your question!
