The OnStar RemoteLink™ mobile app(1) provides a real-time connection to your vehicle so you can see important information such as your fuel level, oil life and tire pressure(2), plus it provides you with the ability to trigger remote commands including remote start and door unlock(3).

Currently OnStar RemoteLink is available on select Apple, Android™ and BlackBerry® devices. The app is free but requires an active OnStar subscription and can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play and Blackberry App World.

    I just bought a 2012 Malibu 2LT and was wondering if/when the Remote Start feature will be added to the RemoteLink App…

    I am hoping that because it is the only model left on the 2012 lineup that doesn’t offer it, that it will be offered shortly…it will affect my decision on whether to continue my OnStar subscription after my 90 days are up.

      Unfortunately the reason why the Remote Start is unable to work with your 2012 Malibu is because of hardware limitations within the vehicle, but you still have access to the other features available with the app. Sorry I don’t have better news to share.

    Why can’t I download the app on my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition? It’s running Android 4.3 which is the same as my Galaxy s3 and it works fine on there.

    I have loved my onstar remote start during this cold winter. But sometimes it does not work. It might say that it timed out. Another time it just says it cannot start my vehicle. What is causing this interference? It will lock and unlock it fine in those instances, but not start it. I have a 2014 Impala.

    I have a 2011 Buick Regal. Every time I attempt to login on my Remote link I keep getting the message with the numbers 403_120. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3.

    I would love to have the onstar remotelink mobile app to work for my car. HOWEVER – it is not available for my 2009 Pontiac G5 :( I seriously signed up for onstar for no reason at all – since I can get the emergency roadside assistance through my insurance. The only reason I subscribed to onstar was so that I could lock and unlock it without having to call onstar – I guess I should have done my research first :( :( :(

    I have a 2014 Equinox and have the On Star Remote link app on my phone. I will be getting a new phone.My account is no active but I have use of the app for 5 years from purchase date. Will I be able to download the app to my new phone and have it work? If so how? Thanks for any help.

    I have a2010 traverse lt2. I put the app on my iPad and got it to work. Went to put on my iPhone 4s and now I’m getting the “try again later” message on both. Any idea what my problem is and how to fix it?
