OnStar Advisors Talk about Their Personal Experience with the FMV Mirror
Several of our OnStar Advisors have purchased OnStar FMV for their own vehicles. Here’s what they are saying:
“My whole experience with the OnStar FMV mirror has been wonderful. I purchased it for my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Track. The most important feature to me is Roadside Assistance. I’ve had plenty of car trouble in the past and the first thing I did every single time was to call my dad — who’s never hesitated to rush to my side to help. So after I got my mirror installed, I brought my dad out to see my new OnStar FMV mirror and told him not to worry about me anymore. We both laughed, thinking of all the times that I could have pressed my blue OnStar button for Roadside Assistance if I’d had it! For all the times my dad was there for me, I want him to have the same peace of mind while he’s driving. I plan on getting him an FMV mirror in the near future.”

“My blind sister asked to hear how the OnStar FMV mirror worked. I pushed the button and asked for directions to the restaurant we were headed to. My sister commented on how pleasant the Advisor sounded but what was more important to her was the simple presence of the mirror in my vehicle. For the most part, I am her transportation. She admitted to me that if we were in an accident, even with her cell phone she would not be able to tell anyone where we were. Knowing that not only would there be a voice on the other end but also a GPS location to get help was invaluable to her.”

“The fact that I have an OnStar FMV with 9.0 Gen technologies in my 2005 Ford Taurus is a unique experience for me. I love all the services! Being able to make hands-free calls and Bluetooth calls is awesome and safe. eNav is absolutely great and convenient. My husband made a remark about his brother having a 2011 Ford Taurus and also being able to use his Bluetooth to make calls and having navigation service, to which I quickly responded that OnStar was superior because we also offer ACR, and emergency service with the assistance of LIVE wonderful Advisors!”

“I don’t like camping, but the folks at my church talked me into it. I had never been to that campground before, so I decided to put my new OnStar FMV to the test. I went online, found the campground on Google Maps™ and sent it to my FMV. When it came time to leave, the directions were sitting in my Virtual Advisor and they downloaded with no problem! At one point in the route, it put me on a dirt road and I got a little worried but I trusted the system, and as it turned out, it was the last road I needed to be on before reaching the campground. It got me there without a hitch and my family and I had a great time camping!”

I drive a 1998 Corvette. At 14 years old, I am concerned about breakdown. Since it has a manual transmission I am concerned about “hands free” calling.
I love the car and have no intention of replacing it but would like to upgrade to this new technology.
I really want to get one. I’m on the road very early in the mornings and in all kind of weather. It would give me and my family a peace of mind to know that i could get ahold of someone if I needed help or were in a accident.
Thanks, tony
I had an accident in 2008 in Philadelphia, PA and within minutes a Officer arrived. No one was injured. That question qas asked while fiilling our need for the accident. I don’t feel alone any more.
