Ford Fan Loves His OnStar FMV

Bob Basa standing in front of his Ford truckBob Basa, who is a tried-and-true Ford man, drives anywhere from 500 to 600 miles on a normal workday. He’s an environmental specialist and has been traveling the Texas oil fields for the past 12 years. He’s generally on the road from 10 to 12 hours a day. “I go to some pretty desolate, far-off places,” Bob says. “Sometimes I don’t see another soul all day long.”

But when OnStar FMV(1) came out, it piqued his interest — and his wife’s, too. “We saw the commercials about it on TV and I read about it on Facebook,” he says. “My wife is the one who made me decide to get it. I drive a 2005 Ford F-250 with 120,000 miles on it, and she said it would give her peace of mind knowing I had it on my truck. I have to admit, the FMV mirror is a pretty handy thing to have, and it is a comforting feeling knowing that OnStar is always there.”

Bob has had his FMV mirror about six months now. His verdict: “I love it.” In fact, it’s been such a hit that Bob’s wife — who drives a 2007 Ford Expedition — wants to get one, too.

Have you or has someone you know used OnStar FMV for assistance while on the road? Tell us about it and we’ll send you a package containing an OnStar mag light, travel cup and keychain (while supplies last). But don’t wait — we only have so many to give away.

I own a Saturn Vue with OnStar and am extreamly thrilled with it’s performance, not the least is the helpful nature of the service agents.

The real reason for my comment on the FMV is I am trying to launch a three wheel vehicle awareness cross country trip. I would love to fly the OnStar FMV flag, stopping whenever requested and demonstrating OnStar person to person or group.

I would also hand out coupons to verifiy the impact. I think simple videos (chats) with people I meet along the way would also be productive.
