How many people here have Onstar FMV? If you don't have it now, are you planning to get it? I installed it myself as soon as it came onto the market.

Hi Bob - Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, the hardware in your vehicle is unable to be upgraded or changed. RemoteLink requires Generation 9 hardware, and the 2010 Silverado is equipped with Generation 8. I own a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado. I have been reading some posts and really all I am getting is that my vehicle does not support the OnStar Remote Link app because it does not have the proper hardware. Can I purchase any upgrade hardware and have it installed to make the OnStar Remote Link app work on my phone for my truck???

Hi Terri - I am sorry to hear about this. Unfortunately, OnStar was never able to do vehicle diagnostics on Saab vehicles due to the electrical structure. If you take your vehicle to a dealer, they will be able to run a diagnostic report. Once again, I am sorry about this, and hope that this helps. - Lisa

Well let's add SAAB's to the problem list. I purchased my car when GM still owned SAAB, specifically so I could have Onstar services. Today when I needed it, I was told that I can only have limited service which does not include diagnostics because GM no longer owns SAAB (actually no one does). I wasn't informed of this, but hopefully at least a few of the people that might be effected by this can read it here.

The navigator inside the mobile app at least in in android 4.0.2 simply does not work. Period. End of story. Any help is better than what I have gotten so far,.

You'll get all of the core safety and security features of OnStar, including Automatic Crash Response, Roadside Assistance, Hands-Free Calling, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Bluetooth, and Stolen Vehicle Assistance. Sorry,I realizes that I should have asked about the Mirror Onstar FMV system that is being offered now for non-GM cars.

I have a 2000 Lincoln Town Car 4 door sedan.I'm a senior and would like to know if fully functional Onstar can be added to my vehicle.The service is expensive and if it would not be worth it, then I would re consider.

The remote app works fine : starts vehicle / stops vehicle, etc ....BUT.....
The navigator inside the app does not work at all.
It can find no address and therefore can send nothing to the vehicle.
Whats up with this?
I called On star tech support was told someone would get back to me in a week.
My thoughts Google maps no longer support OnStar..anyone??

I own a 2011 Terrain SLE-1. I have just ordered the newly available OEM remote start accessory GM part # 20981996. Once installed will I be able to remote start my vehicle from my phone?

Just posting because I encountered a real annoyance when being navigated through the highway 401express in Toronto.

When your on the express it tells you to stay on at every exit. As opposed to just telling u when to exit. Kind of strange and annoying. I am a bit surprised nobody complained about this. It is the busiest strip of highway in Canada and there are a ton of exits which means the onstar voice bothers u every minute or so with the same messages. "stay on highway 401 express"

It is supposed to show the last activated status of hte locks and such, but I only have three dots for the 6 options it shows. I can never remember if I locked my doors so this option will come in handy. I can see my tire pressure and gas info on another screen, but this one will come in handy more often. I can't find any instructions on the website. How do I get it to turn on?

So if I were to purchase the onstar remote start, have it installed at the Chevrolet dealer, and tried to use the MYLink app. You're saying it wouldn't work with my 2011 Camaro? If you don't mind me asking Lisa, why is this??

Hi craig1971 - The OnStar service does rely on a cellular connection for calls into and out of the vehicle, and the roof mounted antenna helps with better connectivity in areas of limited cellular reception. We are aware of some areas where there is not coverage and display the coverage map on onstar.com (http://www.onstar.com/web/portal/coveragemap) for our subscribers. Hope this helps! - Lisa

Visit this link http://www.onstar.com/web/portal/navigationexplore?tab=2 and then click the orange button that says "See How to Use It". A video will start playing that will show you the steps. I saved a map to My Google Maps but I can't send it to On Star. I'm only seeing access to send to e-mail. I'm doing something wrong.
